Metal Detector finD

Struck in Mexico City in 1786, found in New York state by Jeremy. (Instagram).

“This coin was among hundreds of other relics that I found such as British and American military buttons from before and after the war of 1812. I think someone needed a button on their coat more than a coin and that's how the hole got there. The site was located along a river and I think it was either a tavern/cabin, camp or possibly a landing site for boats considering rivers were the main highway back then.

No harm was done as it's been set in a handmade gold bezel. I'd like to thank @peregrinependants for making a small dream become a reality. It's been a few years that I've wanted to have this done and I couldn't be happier. Thanks again”

I'd like to shout out @peregrinependants for making this spectacular necklace! I provided the denarius of Julia Domna, and they did the rest. I was delighted with the results - and so (more importantly) was my girlfriend. If you're interested in jewelry crafted from ancient coins, check out the @peregrinependants

  • Ancient Roman Coin Pendant: Trajan and Wolf, about 1900 years old

I love collecting old coins and making them into pendants; now I don't have to go to my jeweler; Peregrinvs does it all. Plus, I love Emperor Trajan; I'm a student of history and finishing my MA in History, so I just had to add him to my collection. What made me want this piece was Canis lupus, the symbol of Rome. Perfect transaction, great shop, fast shipping, and talented artisan! Thank you!
